You haven't indicated the severity etc of your symptoms, so the honest answer in the light of this amount of information is “not necessarily”. The MovES Ltd courses are set up to be applicable for anyone, and there is a stringent drive to involve course attendees in upholding their legal, professional and personal responsibilities with regard to their own self-care - and that of others, while supporting attendees to identify any limitations in ability, or capacity for movement as an additional support in fulfilling these responsibilities. No one is ever asked to move beyond what they feel they can reasonably and safely achieve, and the degree of progression is closely monitored with individual attendees. As the NMAHM ® is also used in clinical practice it would be used as the underpinning for the development of any therapeutic, care and rehabilitation process designed for any individual patient. The answer then becomes shaded by the degree of your symptoms. For example:
- If you are currently experiencing acute, not readily controlled symptoms, and either off-work or would not be judged fit to be at work probably it would be unfair – and not best use of the resources (including financial considerations) - to you, but also probably to other course participants to undertake the course at this time.
- If you are experiencing symptoms that you would regard as being part of your average “norm”, and either are, or would be able to continue at work then course attendance would probably carry a greater return than you might have previously considered.
Probably the best thing would be to be in touch for more defined information in the light of your personal needs. |
